Smart Optometry

The Smart Optometry app was the brainchild of former student Matic Vogric and his mentor Matjaž Mihelčič, and was implemented and further developed by a team of programmers from Idrija. The application allows testing visual acuity, contrast vision, heterophoria, aniseikonia, optokinetic nystagmus, etc. It includes some previously unused methods, e.g. dynamic detection of red desaturation by quadrants (for optic neuropathies), and a dynamic Amsler chart. Initial versions included tests and exercises for amblyopia. Smart Optometry went on to develop Amblyioplay, a stand-alone programme for exercises for amblyopia and binocular vision problems, which has been a great success, especially in the USA.
